VitaeWho™ Aims to Help Job Seekers Keep Track of Their Cover Letters and Resumes.

September 16, 2010, Seattle

VitaeWho (http://www.engenious.net/VitaeWho) is a free web application for job seekers that saves cover letters and resumes online making them readily accessible when contacted by interested employers.  The product was developed in response to the current economic climate and the number of professionals suddenly seeking employment.

On average, it takes seven months to find a job in the current economic climate.  In that time, most applicants have long forgotten what version of the resume was sent to which prospect.  Yet most job seekers have directories filled with different or customized versions of cover letters and resumes that are no longer linked to the job posting initiating the response.

When the spreadsheet keeping track of potential job leads becomes unmanageable, it is time for a different approach.  With VitaeWho, users can record the job posting URL, when it appeared, and when it closed, the response date, and of course, a copy of the cover letter and resume.  Contacts associated with the job posting are saved directly with the posting.  Often these contacts are intermediate contacts that lose relevance after the interest is expressed.  Leads are assigned a status, such as:  Submitted, Under Consideration, Not Selected, Not Submitted or Backlog.

Job searchers typically peruse multiple employment sites looking for leads that are of interest.  The “Backlog” status enables the user to save leads deserving further consideration without the requirement of responding immediately.  The postings that were assigned to “Backlog” status are prioritized by closing date and can then be re-assessed to identify the job openings that deserve immediate attention.  Job leads that no longer show promise are either deleted or reassigned to the “Not Submitted” status, preserving the possibility of another re-assessment in the future.  Therefore, potential positions of interest are not lost.

VitaeWho is free and will run on any internet web browser that supports Silverlight 4, from Microsoft Corporation.   It is localized for English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Russian.
